Application procedure
Deadlines There are three yearly application deadlines: 1st of January, 1st of May, 1st of September.
Criteria for applicant Individuals as well as institutions, galleries,
publishing firms and other in the Copenhagen
art scene can recommend international artists for the
programme. As an artist you cannot apply for the programme on your own hand.
A
recommendation demands that a contact to the international artist is
established beforehand in order to verify if the artist is interested and if
s/he has the practical possibility to come for a residency in Denmark.
The
artist is as well obliged to participate in a public arrangement/talk to
communicate about his/her artistic practice.
During
the artist’s stay in Denmark,
the applicant from the local art scene will function as a host/esse and is
responsible for coordinating the artist’s programme.
It is not enough to be invited or recommended by a person or an institution in the Danish cultural scene. The application has to be made and sent by a local artist or institution, who has made a programme for the invited artist's stay in Copenhagen and is responsible for the fulfilment of the programme and the stay in Copenhagen.
Application
The application is to be sent to Kunst & Kultur (City of
Copenhagen’s
council for Art and Culture) electronic kunstogkultur@kff.kk.dk.. Under certain circumstances printed
enclosure may be send via post. (There is no standard application form that has to be filled in.)
Application content Maximum
three pages with information about: A)
The artist and his/her practice
B) The scale and content of possible collaboration projects with the artist
(Exhibition, talks, workshops, etc.).
C) The period and time of the stay (1-6 month)
D) An outline of the programme
E) The artist’s contact information
CV’s
of the applicant and the artist A
bibliography or image documentation of the artist A
budget for the residency with a co-financial funding for travel expenses.
Criteria for the CPH AIR The board pays special
attention to those artists receiving an invitation for a residency has a high
level of artistic quality and has an interest in the communication and exchange
with the local art scene in Denmark.
It will appreciate that the applicant has intention to involve the artist in
activities as exhibitions or teaching etc.
There are not any criteria of the artist’s age, sex or nationality.The program is not for the moment implicated to cover
expenses of stay of family, travel cost (the applicant most apply external for
these expenses by applying the international art council).
CPH AIR As an artist in residence you will receive a grant of
10.000 DKK monthly (1343 euros), an apartment, a studio at the Factory of Art and Design, a bike. The apartment, please see photos, is placed close to the Factory of Art and Design please see the map. |
